Computer-Administered Screening for DSM-V Disorders in Children & Adolescents (KSADS)

As with adults, a thorough diagnostic evaluation is critical when initiating treatment with children and adolescents, as failure to identify and treat underlying comorbitity worsens treatment outcomes for both disorders. Computerized assessment provides a comprehensive and cost-efficient method for obtaining a diagnostic evaluation. The procedural standardization of administration insures comprehensive coverage of all important areas in a nonthreatening, clinically neutral environment. Studies have found that adolescents react favorably towards being interviewed by computer. The Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School-Age Children (K-SADS) is the most widely used and well validated diagnostic interview for children and adolescents. The computer-administered KSADS is modeled after the clinician version, and evaluates the same disorders. As with the clinician KSADS, separate computer interviews are conducted for the parent and the child in order to obtain a more comprehensive evaluation. Embedded symptom rating scales provide valid measures of severity in addition to diagnoses. Thus it can be used to monitor treatment progress and document treatment outcomes.

Personalized Automated Text Messaging for CBT (CBText™)
With Our Personalized Automated Text Messaging for CBT (CBText™) tool for Cognitive Behavior Therapy you can send text message reminders of treatment goals and homework assignments to patients between sessions in order to reinforce learning and encourage compliance. Individually tailored text messages guide patients through their CBT homework exercises such as mood monitoring, goal setting, challenging automatic thoughts, activity scheduling, and exposure practice. These processes empower patients and enhance treatment outcomes. A report summarizing the patient’s practice between sessions is generated for your review with the patient at the next session. Studies have found that the use of text messaging has been found to improve treatment outcomes across several disease domains. Teens in particular react favorably to the use of text messaging in therapy, and studies have found it may help engage teens in the treatment process. The use of text messaging has been found to improve treatment outcomes across several disease domains. Also included are on-line teaching tools to help you teach clients CBT skills during sessions.

Web-based CBT patient education materials
Our web-based patient education materials help you interact with clients using an iPad or tablet while teaching them CBT concepts and skills. Unlike paper forms, incorporating interactive graphics and electronic forms into your treatment sessions enhances client involvement and seamlessly creates individually-tailored text messages to encourage completion of CBT practice between sessions. Treatment outcomes relate directly to clients’ understanding of, and engagement with, treatment processes. These interactive communication tools effectively augment patient education and motivation.
